Subject: Synchro News - Monitoring

Hi everyone,

This year at the Pacific Ice Gala we will not be able to offer live program monitoring, so instead,  we are offering to review your programs by video, like we offered last year.  This is a fantastic way for teams that would like to take  advantage of this free opportunity to have our technical panel  and judges from the BC/YT Section review your program.   The Pacific Ice Gala would be a perfect venue for this to be videotaped at, and as most of you have someone that can videotape the performance at the gala, I have listed the instructions below as to how to upload your video. Does anyone need help with videotaping their program at the Gala?  If so, please let me know and I can try to arrange that for you.

For those teams not coming to the gala and would like the video monitoring, please see the steps below and have your program in to us by December 2.

Here is what you need to do:

  • Programs will be reviewed by a team of officials and a summary of our feedback will be sent to you within 7 days.
  • December 2, 2012 is the deadline for programs to be in.  (This gives you one day after the Gala to upload your video to us).

  • Videos may be submitted via, an online video-sharing site.
  • Videos may be up to 2GB in size and 15 minutes in length.
  • To maintain privacy with your submissions - we recommend the following steps:

            1.    Create an account on YouTube

                2.    Once you have uploaded your program - please send your user name and
the current password as well as the program content worksheet to me, at

Other information:

  • We will only review and provide feedback for practice programs - any programs from competitions will not be reviewed.
  • We recommend taping a team from where a judging panel would sit (close enough to see footwork sequences but wide enough view to see as much of the team as possible).   If you have specific questions regarding certain elements or rules, please include these in the email.
  • Just a reminder, we will try our best to get these back to you within 7 days.  Please be patient with us.

Planned Program Content Sheets

  • It is required that all videos are accompanied by a list of your planned elements, including transitions. It is not necessary to provide the exact timing of all elements.
  • Please note that videos will NOT be viewed and feedback will not be provided without this information. In order to provide accurate feedback, it is necessary for us to know which elements are being attempted for technical credit.
  • Please remember to indicate which fe/fm your team is attempting for credit in the MI element and to email your planned program sheet to me at the email address above.

If you have any questions, please contact me at

Thanks everyone!!
